The story of CherriLearn began in a high school in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, where Shrinidhi, a young student, aspired to make e-learning accessible to those who couldn’t afford it. Coming from a humble background, Shrinidhi related to the struggles faced by many students in India. He started with a YouTube channel, Science Sarvajna, which evolved into Sarvajna Info Tech LLP, the parent company of CherriLearn.
Despite initial parental concerns, Shrinidhi’s success in supporting his family changed their perspective. Today, CherriLearn, headquartered in Puttur, generated a revenue of ₹18 crore in FY24. The app offers gamified learning solutions, available on multiple platforms, and is priced affordably to cater to underprivileged students.
CherriLearn offers courses in Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Kannada, and English, with a focus on vernacular languages. It plans to expand to Hindi and other languages by 2026. The company operates on a B2C, B2B2C, and CSR model, partnering with corporations to provide free subscriptions to schools.
The CherriLearn team comprises educators, designers, and developers, with additional tech support from local companies. In 2022, the company raised ₹1.5 crore in seed funding and reached operational break-even in FY25. Future plans include an offline app mode, moral stories, GK, skill-based videos, and expansion into classes 6-10 and international markets like Africa.
CherriLearn aims to cover 100 government schools by the end of the academic year, focusing on providing affordable education to underprivileged students.
