The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a crucial notification regarding Om Prakash Jogender Singh (OPJS) University, Churu, for the academic year 2024-25. According to the official announcement, the Rajasthan government has imposed a ban on new admissions at OPJS University for the upcoming academic session. Additionally, the degrees issued by the university over the past three years are currently under review by the state government.
The notice states that, as per the Higher Education Department, Government of Rajasthan letter (No. 3(1) Shikha-4/2023-00409 dated 06.11.2024), new admissions to OPJS University have been prohibited for 2024-25, and the verification of degrees granted by the institution in the past three years is being conducted.
This move follows a UGC decision in December 2023, where the university was barred from enrolling PhD students due to violations in offering the program as per prescribed guidelines. The UGC also issued a warning to students and parents advising against taking admission at the university.
The public notice is issued to keep students and stakeholders informed about the developments at OPJS University. For detailed information, the public is encouraged to refer to the official website of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
