Deralakatte, Mangaluru, October 16, 2025: The Department of Pharmaceutics at Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre observed National cGMP Day 2025 with great enthusiasm on October 16. The event, organised as per the directive of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and in association with the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA), aimed to promote awareness on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and their crucial role in ensuring pharmaceutical quality and patient safety.

The celebration brought together students, faculty, and industry professionals to discuss the significance of quality compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Industry Insights on Quality and Compliance

The Chief Guest and Resource Person, Mr Dineshchandra A. Hegde, Managing Director, Vasudha Lifecare Sciences Ltd., Brahmavar, delivered an insightful session on the topic “Achieving Sustainable Quality through Continuous Improvement and Modern Technologies.”

Mr Hegde highlighted that quality should be built into every stage of the design and manufacturing process — not merely verified during the final testing. He elaborated on how the integration of modern technologies and data-driven quality systems enhances product consistency, safety, and efficacy.

“Good manufacturing practice is not just a regulation — it’s a culture of responsibility and continuous learning,” Mr Hegde remarked, inspiring the students to view pharmaceutical manufacturing as both a science and a commitment to humanity.
