Mangaluru: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 25 May between the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and the High Commission of the Republic of Gambia to foster international cooperation in Education, Patient Care, Research, and Community Empowerment.
This strategic collaboration encompasses a broad spectrum of disciplines in which both Gambia and Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) have strong programs of multi-lateral cooperation and interest.
The Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has offered free scholarships to the students from Gambia to pursue their education here. The teaching hospital has offered low-cost treatment facilities for patients from Gambia
The MoU signing ceremony took place at 10 am following an interaction between key individuals from both sides.
His Excellency Mustapha Jawara High Commissioner of Gambia, Dr Vijaya Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr Gangadhara Somayaji, Registrar of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) were part of the signing process.
