Mangaluru: The 15th Convocation of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) was held on 15 November 2025 at the Yendurance Zone, Deralakatte campus, marking a milestone moment for 3,733 graduates from diverse disciplines. Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest, delivering a powerful and inspiring address.

‘Choose significance over success’: Chief Guest’s address
Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit began by commending Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor, for his visionary contributions to education and healthcare. She applauded the University’s commitment to Excellence, Ethics, Equality, and Equity, and highlighted its culture of innovation and integrity.
Encouraging the new graduates to embrace the boundless opportunities that await them, she said that their learning must serve the greater good of the community and the nation.
She urged students to nurture moral and intellectual strength, build an inclusive society, and work towards the common good.

Concluding her speech with lines from Rabindranath Tagore’s Where the Mind is Without Fear, she reminded them:
“Step into the world with confidence. Stay curious. Think boldly. Stand by what is right. Keep your mind open and your spirit fearless.”
Guest of Honour emphasises purpose and humanity
Dr Taslimarif Saiyed, Director and CEO of C-CAMP, Bengaluru, served as the Guest of Honour. He offered graduates five guiding principles — Knowledge, Wisdom, Values, Purpose, and Humanity — explaining that each one strengthens the next.
He noted that when purpose aligns with humanity, success becomes meaningful and transformative.

Degrees conferred across multiple faculties
Chancellor Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi presided over the convocation and conferred degrees upon graduates from:
- Medicine
- Dentistry
- Nursing and Healthcare Professions
- Commerce and Management
- Science, Arts and Social Sciences
- Pharmacy
- Ayurveda
- Homeopathy
The ceremony also honoured 10 Gold Medalists for outstanding excellence.
Institutional report and formal proceedings
Vice-Chancellor Dr M. Vijayakumar presented the University Report, reviewing major academic achievements and institutional progress during 2024–25.
Dr B. T. Nandish, Controller of Examinations, administered the graduation oath, following which Dr Gangadhara Somayaji K. S, Registrar, proposed the vote of thanks.
Dignitaries present included Dr B. H. Sripathi Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mr Yenepoya Abdulla Javeed, IAE Trustee; Dr Akhter Husain, Secretary, IAE; Statutory Officers, Deans, Centre Heads, and faculty from various units. Members of the Academic Council, Executive Council, and Board of Management were also in attendance.

The convocation reaffirmed Yenepoya University’s commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals who embody academic excellence, compassion, and service to society.
