Mangaluru: Yenepoya World School, in collaboration with Yenepoya Specialty Hospital, State Bank of India (SBI), and the Indian Red Cross Society, successfully organised a Blood Donation Camp that witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the city.

The initiative brought together students, parents, staff members, banking professionals, and members of the public in a collective effort to support a life-saving cause and promote voluntary blood donation.

Camp Inaugurated by SBI Deputy General Manager

The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Mr Krishna Mohan Murchala, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Among the distinguished guests present were Mr Vinayak Shenoy, Regional Manager (RB O1 Mangaluru), Mr Anthony Joseph, Associate Director of The Yenepoya School and Yenepoya World School, and Mr Uzwal Menezes, Principal of The Yenepoya School and PU College.

Strong Public Response

The camp witnessed a remarkable turnout, with blood donors from different parts of Mangaluru participating in the noble initiative. Parents, students, staff members of Yenepoya institutions, employees of the State Bank of India, and several members of the community voluntarily donated blood, reflecting a strong spirit of social responsibility and compassion.

Organisers noted that the active participation demonstrated the community’s willingness to contribute towards healthcare needs and support patients requiring blood transfusions.

The organisers highlighted that the programme not only helped create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation but also strengthened collaboration among educational institutions, healthcare providers, financial institutions, and social service organisations.
