Mangaluru: NSS Unit 21 of Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management hosted the Viksit Bharat – Young Leaders Dialogue at YMK, Kulur, with the theme “Young Minds, Strong Nation – Building a Viksit Bharat.” The event highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping India’s future towards the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

Leadership and guidance

The programme was held under the guidance of Dr Ashwini S. Shetty, NSS Coordinator, and Dr Jeevan Raj, Principal (In-Charge). It was presided over by Mr Narayan Sukumar A, Vice Principal. The formal welcome was delivered by Ms Priya, NSS Programme Officer, while Ms Dua, an NSS Volunteer, compered the event.

Panel discussion on nation-building

The central highlight of the day was a panel discussion chaired by Col. Nithin Bhide (Retd.), Officer in Charge of Ex-Servicemen Healthcare for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, under the Ministry of Defence.

The panel featured distinguished personalities, including:

  • Prof. Vineetha, Former Registrar (Evaluation), School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya

  • Mr Vishal Dutta, Founder Chairman, Pratha Indic Renaissance Trust

  • Dr Imran Pasha M, Additional Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry

  • Ms Rashmi J. Anchan, NSS National and State Awardee

  • The discussion was moderated by NSS volunteers Mr Nishwan, Ms Dhanyashree Bhat, and Ms Charunayana.

    The interactive session centred on vital areas such as innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, sustainability, and youth empowerment. Panelists stressed the importance of creative problem-solving and active participation in governance and society.

    They also urged students to integrate social responsibility with professional aspirations, aiming to drive progress towards a self-reliant and globally competitive India by 2047.
