Actress Pavitra Lokesh, who recently appeared in the Telugu film Malli Pelli alongside her senior actor husband Naresh, has successfully passed the Common Entrance Test (CET) of Kannada University and will now pursue a PhD. The exam took place on July 30, and out of 981 students who appeared for it, only 259 candidates, including Pavitra Lokesh, cleared the test. Pavitra Lokesh is set to conduct her research at Belgaum Extension Centre under Bhasha Nikaya, as per reports.
The vice-chancellor of Kannada University, Dr Subbanna Rai, mentioned that research opportunities are available not only in the Science Institute but also in various departments of Language Institutes, Social Science, and Lalitha Art Institute.
Apart from her academic achievements, Pavitra Lokesh has been involved in legal matters alongside her husband Naresh and his ex-wife Ramya Raghupathi. Recently, the court dismissed a petition to stop the OTT release of Malli Pelli, a film based on the real-life incidents of Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh’s marriage. The court also accepted Naresh’s injunction suit to bar Ramya from entering his house. The movie was set to premiere on Amazon Prime in June, and Ramya attempted to halt its release, alleging that it aimed to defame her character. However, the court dismissed her case due to a lack of merit. Additionally, the civil court ruled on Naresh and Ramya’s marriage and divorce, nullifying their marriage as they have not lived together for six years, as per the Supreme Court provision. Consequently, the way is paved for Naresh and Ramya’s divorce.
Returning to Malli Pelli, the film featured various actors such as Vanitha Vijaykumar, Ananya Nagalla, Roshan, Ravi Varma, Annapoorna, Bhadram, Yukta, Praveen Yandamuri, and Madhu in significant roles.
