Mumbai: The #MeToo movement has picked up its pace in Bollywood after Tanushree Dutta named Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya as her assaulters. Several actresses, directors, producers and others in the business are now opening up and speaking about their traumatising experiences. Prominent personalities such as Gursimran Khamba, Utsav Chakraborty, Vikas Bahl and Alok Nath have been accused of various forms of sexual violations.
There are also many actors, both men and women, who have come out in support of the movement and the survivors. The latest name to join the list of supporters is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, former Miss World and Bollywood actress.
“I spoke in the past, I am speaking now and I will continue to speak,” said Aishwarya, who has previously openly spoken about the abuse she had suffered while she was in a relationship with fellow actor Salman Khan.
