Mumbai [India]: On a recent episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, actor Alia Bhatt opened up about her fond memories of the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, while also drawing parallels between him and her daughter Raha Kapoor. The heartwarming conversation touched on nostalgia, family bonds, and the ways in which the legendary actor’s spirit continues to live on through the next generation.

Alia Bhatt’s memories from Kapoor & Sons set

Speaking about her time shooting for the 2016 film Kapoor & Sons, Alia recalled the warmth and camaraderie created by Rishi Kapoor on set. “I wasn’t dating Ranbir at that time, but we would hang out every evening. He had the most wonderful stories to tell. He would call everybody after shoot to chill and have dinner together. That ambience was very good. I really miss him,” Alia shared.

The actress highlighted that Rishi Kapoor’s ability to bring people together left a lasting impression on her. His lively storytelling and zest for life became a cherished memory for everyone involved in the project.

Raha as “mini Rishi Kapoor”

Alia went on to speak about how her daughter Raha Kapoor, who she shares with Ranbir Kapoor, reminds people of the late actor. “Now, whenever people see Raha, they say she is mini Rishi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. There is some of his energy in her, and she depicts that from time to time,” she revealed.

The actress added that Raha’s playful spirit and charm often echo Rishi Kapoor’s larger-than-life persona, making it a touching reminder of the legacy he left behind.

Varun Dhawan’s humorous encounter

Actor Varun Dhawan, who debuted alongside Alia in Student of the Year (2012), also shared a lighthearted story about Rishi Kapoor from the same set. Recalling a football sequence with co-star Sidharth Malhotra, Varun said Rishi Kapoor was particularly concerned about their use of hair gel.

“He kept saying, ‘What is this? Your hair don’t move. Come hail or storm, your hair don’t move. You guys are playing football, your hair should move,’” Varun said, leaving the audience in splits.

The veteran actor even insisted that Karan Johar have the gel removed before they could proceed with the shoot. “We didn’t do the next shot until they removed the gel,” Varun laughed, adding a humorous note to the conversation.

Legacy of collaboration and nostalgia

Alia and Varun, who went on to act together in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Kalank, reflected on how Rishi Kapoor’s unique perspective brought authenticity and humour to the sets. His ability to notice even the smallest details demonstrated his passion for cinema and authenticity in performance.
