A viral video now circulating online captures the exact moment her Malabar Gold and Diamonds necklace began to come undone. As the clasp loosened, Alia quickly reached up and adjusted her hand placement to secure it — cleverly blending it into her red carpet stance. What looked like a confident pose was actually a split-second rescue.
On May 24, Alia made her second Cannes appearance in a Gucci ensemble — a shimmering nude outfit resembling a sari, richly detailed with the brand’s iconic GG monogram. Designed in collaboration with Rhea Kapoor, it’s believed to be Gucci’s first India-inspired couture drape, layered with Swarovski crystals and styled with vintage-themed jewellery.
The necklace featured rare European-cut diamonds set in oxidised rustic gold, giving it a Victorian-era flair. It was co-designed by Mine Diamonds and curated especially for the occasion.
