Mumbai: The makers of the upcoming silent comedy Ufff Yeh Siyapaa have released the film’s first track, Dil Parinda, composed and sung by the Oscar-winning music maestro AR Rahman, with lyrics penned by Kumaar. The peppy number, released along with a vibrant music video, promises to be a major highlight of the film that relies heavily on music and expressions instead of dialogue.
A song full of rhythm and freedom
In the visuals of Dil Parinda, viewers see Sohum Shah as Kesarilal Singh, a man experiencing a quirky sense of liberation after his wife, Pushpa (played by Nushrratt Bharuccha), storms out of their home. As he begins to embrace this unexpected freedom, he finds himself intrigued by his charming neighbour, Kamini (played by Nora Fatehi), sparking a series of comic and romantic misadventures.
The song carries an upbeat rhythm, showcasing Rahman’s signature style of blending light-hearted melodies with a lively tempo, perfectly matching the whimsical nature of the film.
AR Rahman on composing Dil Parinda
Sharing insights into his creative process, Rahman said:
“While working on Dil Parinda, I wanted the composition to feel effortless, uplifting, and full of joy. Since the film speaks through silence, this song became a way to channel its rhythm and spirit.”
Ufff Yeh Siyapaa – a cinematic experiment
Directed by G Ashok and presented by Luv Films, the film breaks conventional storytelling norms by eliminating dialogue altogether. Instead, the narrative depends on background score, situational humour, and expressive performances.
Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film stars Sohum Shah, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Nora Fatehi, and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.
Plot highlights – romance, chaos, and comedy
The film revolves around a mute man whose life spirals out of control after a small misunderstanding with his wife triggers a bizarre chain of events. These include a drug package mix-up, unexpected dead bodies in his home, and a determined cop (played by Sharib Hashmi) who begins to investigate, leading to a comedy of errors.
Star cast and previous collaborations
For Nushrratt Bharuccha, this marks her second release of 2025 after Chhorii 2. She has previously collaborated with Luv Films on projects like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and the Pyaar Ka Punchnama series, besides a cameo in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
For Nora Fatehi, Ufff Yeh Siyapaa is her third film this year, after Abhishek Bachchan’s Be Happy and the Kannada action-thriller KD – The Devil.
Release and expectations
With Rahman’s music adding depth and emotion to a dialogue-free narrative, the film promises to deliver a unique cinematic experience. Ufff Yeh Siyapaa is set for a theatrical release on September 5, 2025.
