On Puri Beach in Odisha, a sculpture of Santa Claus was made out of onions and sand.
With the motto “gift a plant, green the earth,” renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik used two tonnes of onions to create the 100 feet by 20 feet by 40 feet artwork.
On Christmas Eve, Pattnaik and his sand art school students took eight hours to finish the sculpture.
We try something new on the sand every year. We used tomatoes to make a Santa Claus sculpture last year. We used onions this year,” Pattnaik remarked.
According to Pattnaik, this sand art installation of Santa Claus made out of onions and sand has set a new record in the World Record Book of India.
