Backalash to apoorva Saying She’s Proud of Women Who ‘Monetise Their Sexuality’

Content creator and actress Apoorva Mukhija, known online as The Rebel Kid, is once again in the spotlight—this time for a remark that has ignited severe criticism. In a recent interview with Zoom, Apoorva said she was proud of women “who monetise their sexualness,” adding, “Good for you girlpops, I am proud of y’all. If men are stupid enough to see it, pay for it, do it.”

A clip of the statement quickly went viral, drawing heavy backlash. Critics accused her of promoting what they called “characterless” behaviour and confusing exploitation with empowerment. One user commented, “This isn’t empowerment,” while another called her “just a pure example of being characterless.” Others pointed out the irony, recalling how Apoorva previously looked down on Uorfi Javed during their appearance on The Traitors.

The controversy comes months after Apoorva faced legal trouble over her remarks on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, which also involved Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani. Despite the backlash, the 23-year-old remains unapologetic, continuing to make headlines with her outspoken opinions.
