New Delhi – Following Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit due to an 8-hour work shift disagreement, many in the entertainment industry are now speaking up about work-life balance. Actor Barun Sobti is the latest to share his opinion on the issue, voicing strong support for shorter workdays.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sobti said he completely supports reduced working hours for actors and crew. “I wouldn’t mind 8-hour shifts at all. Life should be lived well by everyone. In our field, working 12 hours plus 2 hours of travel daily is exhausting,” he explained.

He added that this situation is even more challenging for individuals who are underpaid despite working tirelessly. “There are so many who work harder than me but aren’t fairly compensated. If I ever become a producer, I’d want to ease that burden.”

Barun, who is now exploring co-production ventures, emphasized that he wants to be a compassionate producer who values his team’s well-being. “When I fully step into production, I want to implement humane schedules. Eight-hour shifts would be the norm,” he affirmed.

On the Work Front

Barun also revealed that the script for Asur 3 is complete, but filming is yet to begin. He will also return in Kohrra Season 2 alongside Mona Singh, though the release date is still under wraps.

His comments add momentum to the conversation around healthy work culture in the entertainment world.
