In a historic moment for Coastalwood, the video song release of the film Middle Class Family was held at Kalpana Theater in Udupi on September 10, becoming the first Coastalwood video song release at a single-screen theatre.
The event began with the hoisting of the Tulunadu flag, setting a celebratory tone. The video song features performances by Prakash Mahadevan and Rakshan Madoor, with lyrics by Rakshan Madoor and music composed by Surjan Kumar Thonse.
Yashpal Suvarna, MLA of Udupi, inaugurated the event with a lamp lighting ceremony, praising the Tulu film industry for promoting Tulu culture globally and strengthening community unity.
Gurme Suresh Shetty, MLA of Kaup, emphasized the significance of Tulu films in cultural propagation and wished success for the film.
Congress leader Prasad Raj Kanchan reflected on the enduring appeal of Tulu films, comparing their quality to international standards and urging continued excellence in film production.
Jayakar Shetty Indrali, president of the Cooperative Union, encouraged Tulu people to support the film, highlighting the relevance of the venue, Kalpana Theater, as a traditional space for middle-class families.
Film director Vijay Kumar Kodiyalbail described the video song as a high-class production and urged all families to support the film, celebrating Kalpana Theater as a cultural hub for Tulu films.
Comedian and drama artist Bojaraj Vamjoor, who played a special role in the film, wished for its success and encouraged audience support for Tulu cinema.
Director Rahul Amin expressed excitement over the event’s turnout and revealed that the film will be released on October 31, urging everyone to watch it in theaters.
The evening included a vibrant dance performance, and several individuals, including Ravi Katapady, Sushma, and Sachin Shetty, were felicitated.
The film, produced by Anand N Kumpala and directed by Rahul Amin, stars Vineeth Kumar and Samatha Amin. Key attendees included Hariprasad Rai, Ramesh Kanchan, and other local dignitaries.
