A private college in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru, has announced a day off on March 27 to mark the release of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s much-anticipated film. The institution’s managing director, a devoted admirer of the actor, has also reserved two full screenings at YGR Mall exclusively for students.

Good Shepherd Institutions, offering nursing, paramedical, and degree courses for over 23 years, accommodates around 500 learners. The decision for the holiday came naturally as the college is hosting its graduation ceremony on March 26, graced by the Goa governor and the university’s vice-chancellor, with students’ families attending. Since a break was already under consideration, enthusiastic students requested permission to watch the film on its release day. The management turned it into a grand event by officially declaring a holiday and arranging the special screenings.

“This is how college life should be—fun-filled and memorable. We share a close bond with our students and staff, like one big family. By encouraging such celebrations, we also hope students stay away from harmful distractions like substance abuse,” said the MD, who wished to remain unnamed.

A passionate Mohanlal fan, he highlighted a unique coincidence—the college’s landline number matches the famous contact number used by the actor in Rajavinte Makan. With two shows booked for 430 seats, the college has spent ₹1.4 lakh on this initiative. A social media post announced the celebration.
