The much-anticipated Malayalam film I’m Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan, officially began shooting on May 3, 2025, with a traditional pooja ceremony. The film, previously referred to as DQ40, is produced by Wayfarer Films Private Limited.
The launch event saw the presence of director Nahas Hidhayath, actors Myskkin and Antony Varghese, and members of the technical crew. The production house announced the commencement on social media, stating:
“At long last we begin shooting of our highly ambitious film, ‘I’m Game’! We have assembled a wonderful team… Wishing the entire team good luck and prayers for a fantastic first schedule!”
Back in March, Dulquer had teased fans with the first-look poster — a mysterious visual featuring a wounded hand clutching a playing card, sparking intrigue around the film’s plot. His caption, “The Game is On! #RollYourDice #ImGame”, further built anticipation.
Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, who previously helmed the hit RDX, the film’s screenplay is penned by Sajeer Baba, Bilal Moidu, and Ismail Aboobacker. Music is composed by Jakes Bejoy, promising a power-packed soundtrack.
I’m Game marks Dulquer’s return to Malayalam cinema after King of Kotha (2023), which underperformed compared to RDX. However, his continued success in Telugu cinema, especially with Sita Ramam and Lucky Baskhar, has kept fans engaged and eager for this comeback.
Online reactions are overwhelmingly positive, with fans saying: “Our Boss Is Home” and “OG is back in Mollywood.”
