Chennai-based engineering student VV Vaageesan has served a legal notice to the creators of Tamil film Amaran, seeking ₹1.1 crore in damages for the unauthorized use of his personal mobile number in the movie.

Following the film’s release on October 31, 2024, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, Vaageesan’s number was featured, leading to a flood of calls from fans mistaking it for Sai Pallavi’s. Attempts to contact the director, Rajkumar Periyasamy, and actor Sivakarthikeyan through social media yielded no response.

The legal notice demands the removal of the number from the film and compensation for the disruptions and distress caused. The filmmakers have not yet addressed the issue, while Vaageesan continues to face harassment.
