Director Srini has recently completed shooting for the heist thriller “Ghost,” starring Shivarajkumar and Anupam Kher. Interestingly, alongside wrapping up the shooting for “Ghost,” Srini has also captured a few scenes that offer a sneak peek into his upcoming whodunit thriller, “Birbal 2.”
The filmmakers have shared glimpses from the sets of the sequel to “Birbal” and have hinted at the creation of a cinema multiverse. This concept, commonly practiced in Hollywood, involves interconnecting storylines across different films. Director Srini is now embracing this trend in the Kannada film industry, aiming to establish connections between his directorial works. “I am in the process of linking my debut directorial, ‘Birbal Trilogy Case 1 – Finding Vajramuni’ (2019), with the heist thriller ‘Ghost’ featuring Shivarajkumar. This connection will extend to the sequel of the whodunit ‘Birbal,’ which, in turn, will be linked to ‘Ghost 2.’ Therefore, while wrapping up the shooting for ‘Ghost’ and completing the pending patchwork, I also filmed a few shots for the upcoming ‘Birbal’ sequel,” he elaborates.
The sequel to “Birbal,” which is part of a trilogy, sees Srini collaborating once again with Sandesh Productions after “Ghost.” Srini has filmed preliminary segments, with full-fledged production for the “Birbal” sequel slated to commence in December, following the release of “Ghost,” expected around the Dasara festival. The director also mentioned that the remaining cast and crew for the sequel are yet to be finalized.
