It’s one thing when an individual accidentally finds himself with gifts obtained in dishonest ways. But sadly, that was not the case with one of Bollywood’s finest celebrities who was found with property worth Rs 200 crore, amassed from a scandalous money laundering case. 

And the name is none other than Jacqueline Fernandes, the Sri Lankan actor and model who has made her presence on several reality shows and music videos to date. 

The partner in crime here was none other than Sukhesh Chandrashekar, who was said to have shared with her these proceeds of crime. The money spoken of here is that which the Bangalore-based con man was known to have made from more than 30 lakh cases that are now to his name. 

What’s more, the trickster also has his name against an extortion racket worth Rs 200 crores, in which he got himself involved with a fake identity that he had made. 

Having later been involved in a relationship with Jacqueline, he went on to splurge on her with the illegal money he made, showering the diva with designer jewelry, expensive watches, branded clothes, bags, shoes, and perfumes. To this list, one can also add the massage chair, four cats, and a horse worth 52 lakhs. And wait, there’s a car too, a Mini Cooper that the celebrity is said to have later returned. 

This may not have been much considering that the conman was the owner of 16 high-end luxury cars, of which he presented to her this one. But why did she accept these dishonest gifts in the first place, is the question on our minds today. 

All this brings us to the sad truth. Celebrities loaded with wealth still go about amassing more by dishonesty, and looting from the masses out there, some of whom are more unfortunate than them. And if that is the case, what can we expect from the poorer masses of today?
