Actor-turned-politician Govinda recently visited the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Clad in a yellow kurta, the Bollywood veteran performed traditional rituals and offered prayers at the sacred shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
During his visit, Govinda participated in devotional practices, including pouring water over the idol of Nandi, Shiva’s sacred bull. Speaking to the media, he expressed deep spiritual satisfaction after completing the rituals.
His visit follows that of actor Arjun Rampal, who earlier attended the temple’s famous Bhasma Aarti. Rampal described the experience as “beautiful, lively, and wonderful,” stating that he prayed for harmony in the nation and the world.
The Bhasma Aarti, performed in the early hours of the morning, is one of the most sacred rituals at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. Devotees from across India visit to witness this unique ceremony, where the Shiva Lingam is bathed in Panchamrit, adorned with holy ashes, and worshipped amidst sacred chants, drums, and conch shells.
On the professional front, Govinda, last seen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja, recently made an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show.
