Hyderabad: After the massive success of Kantara: Chapter 1, actor Gulshan Devaiah, who played the film’s memorable antagonist, is now making his Telugu cinema debut. The actor has officially joined the cast of Maa Inti Bangaram, a new film starring and produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Gulshan steps into Telugu cinema
The project, directed by Nandini Reddy, marks a reunion between the filmmaker and Samantha after their successful 2019 film Oh! Baby. The film recently went on floors, and shooting is currently in progress.
Sharing his excitement, Gulshan took to Instagram and reshared the announcement post with the caption, “Nenu kuda unnanu” (I’m also there), confirming his involvement in the film. While details about his character remain under wraps, industry sources suggest that he may be playing a pivotal role opposite Samantha.
Samantha returns to production
Maa Inti Bangaram also marks a significant move for Samantha, who is not only headlining the project but also producing it under her home banner. The film is expected to be a family drama with emotional depth, blending humour and heart — a genre Nandini Reddy is known for.
The collaboration between Samantha and Nandini Reddy has generated considerable buzz, especially after Oh! Baby’s commercial and critical success. According to reports, the makers are currently filming key sequences in Hyderabad before moving to Vizag for the next schedule.
Gulshan’s journey post-Kantara
For Gulshan Devaiah, this project comes on the heels of a career-defining year. Following his acclaimed villainous turn in Kantara: Chapter 1, which is set for its OTT release on October 31, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video, the actor has received multiple offers across industries.
Known for his versatile performances in Hunterrr, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, and Duranga, Gulshan has steadily built a reputation for taking on challenging and unconventional roles. With Maa Inti Bangaram, he now adds another regional language to his filmography.
A promising collaboration ahead
Director Nandini Reddy, speaking to a Telugu daily, hinted that Maa Inti Bangaram will be a “slice-of-life story about love, home, and self-discovery,” and that the casting of Samantha and Gulshan adds “a unique dynamic” to the narrative.
The film’s music is reportedly being composed by Mickey J. Meyer, and the cinematography is handled by Vivek Sagar, though an official confirmation is awaited.
What’s next
With Kantara: Chapter 1 gearing up for its OTT premiere and Maa Inti Bangaram in production, Gulshan Devaiah seems poised for a strong multilingual phase in his career. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official first-look poster, which is expected to be unveiled by the end of November.
