Mumbai: Director Vishal Chaturvedi‘s devotional drama Hanuman Ansh, based on the life of saint Neem Karoli Baba, is set to premiere on SonyLIV on November 27, 2026. The film’s digital release follows a reported worldwide box office collection of Rs 452.86 crore on a production budget of Rs 2 crore. However, the announcement comes amid an alleged dispute among members of the film’s team over rights, publicity and authority to represent the project.

SonyLIV announced the streaming date through its official Instagram account, sharing the film’s trailer and inviting audiences to watch it on the platform.

“A divine force. An extraordinary story. A film loved by the nation, now coming home. Hanuman Ansh, arriving on Sony LIV on 27th November! #SitaRam (sic),” the platform wrote.

The streaming service had also shared the film’s poster earlier, describing it as a story of faith, devotion and miracles. The promotional message called Hanuman Ansh one of the most loved films of the year and confirmed that it would be available exclusively on SonyLIV from November 27.

SonyLIV confirms November 27 streaming premiere

The OTT announcement marks the next stage in the film’s release journey after its reported theatrical success.

The devotional drama explores the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, a saint whose teachings and devotion to Lord Hanuman have attracted followers in India and abroad.

The film’s digital premiere is expected to make the story accessible to audiences who may not have watched it in theatres. SonyLIV has begun building anticipation through its social media promotions, including the release of the trailer and poster.

The platform’s announcement also highlighted the film’s devotional theme, using references to faith and miracles to introduce the story to its streaming audience.

While the November 27 release date has been confirmed by SonyLIV, the announcement has also drawn attention to a disagreement within the film’s team. The dispute concerns who is authorised to handle publicity, marketing, partnerships and other commercial matters relating to the project.

Producers issue statement over publicity and rights

The disagreement became public after Namrata and Vishal Chaturvedi issued a statement through Swambhu Media Network on Monday.

In the statement, they identified themselves as the film’s Executive Directors and said they were the authorised representatives responsible for its public relations, marketing, awards and partnerships.

The communication also cautioned against individuals claiming to represent Hanuman Ansh or independently handling matters connected with the film’s rights.

It stated that no individual producer could independently enter into business arrangements concerning the project. According to the statement, any such dealings would not be recognised by the company or the producers.

The note further addressed public communication by people associated with the film. It said that individuals, including cast and crew members, who wished to speak about Hanuman Ansh or represent it at interviews, podcasts, promotional events and other public platforms would first need confirmation through the film’s official communication channels.

The statement also emphasised that the film’s credits would remain as mentioned in its official credits. It added that the company would take necessary steps to safeguard its rights and interests.

These instructions indicate that the disagreement extends beyond promotional activities to questions about who can formally speak on behalf of the film and make decisions concerning its commercial interests.

Four producers named in rights clarification

The statement also included a disclaimer clarifying the film’s production and ownership arrangements.

It identified the four producers as Namrata G Singh, Dr Vishal Chaturvedi, Ragini Sona and Anupriya Nagar.

The disclaimer emphasised that the film’s rights are jointly held by all four producers. It further stated that decisions concerning publicity, awards, partnerships and rights in India and overseas require approval from all four producers under the production agreement.

This clarification is significant because it distinguishes the authority to manage publicity and communications from the joint ownership of the film’s rights.

While Namrata and Vishal described themselves as the authorised representatives for specified activities, the disclaimer stated that the four producers collectively hold the rights and must approve decisions concerning the listed matters.

The public statement therefore sets out the positions on representation and decision-making, but does not by itself establish the outcome of the reported disagreement. The film’s streaming announcement, meanwhile, has proceeded with SonyLIV confirming its premiere date.

Hanuman Ansh reportedly earns Rs 452.86 crore worldwide

Apart from the dispute, Hanuman Ansh has attracted attention for its reported box office performance.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 452.86 crore worldwide against a reported production budget of Rs 2 crore.

If these reported figures are taken into account, the film has recorded an extraordinary difference between its production cost and worldwide collection. Its performance has also made it a talking point in discussions about the commercial potential of devotional cinema.

The film’s reported success is particularly notable given its focus on a spiritual biography rather than a conventional commercial action or romantic storyline.

However, box office figures cited by industry trackers should be understood as reported estimates rather than audited financial statements. The Rs 452.86 crore worldwide collection and Rs 2 crore budget are figures attributed to the respective reports.

The upcoming OTT release will give the film another opportunity to reach viewers, including audiences interested in devotional stories and the life of Neem Karoli Baba.

Story follows Lakshminarayan’s spiritual transformation

Hanuman Ansh follows the life of Lakshminarayan, a young boy who loses his mother and begins searching for answers about God, life and death.

His search takes him across North India, where he encounters questions about human suffering and the meaning of existence. As he travels, he attempts to understand the experiences and circumstances that shape human life.

The narrative traces this spiritual journey towards his transformation into Neem Karoli Baba. Through the character’s experiences, the film explores themes of faith, devotion, loss and the search for a deeper understanding of life.

Neem Karoli Baba is remembered by devotees for his association with Lord Hanuman and his teachings on devotion and service. His influence continues to be felt among followers in India and internationally.

The film attempts to bring aspects of his life and spiritual journey to the screen, presenting the story through the experiences of Lakshminarayan.

Shobhinaw Satyaa leads the cast

Actor Shobhinaw Satyaa plays the lead role in Hanuman Ansh. The supporting cast includes Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel.

Vishal Chaturvedi has directed the devotional drama, which has drawn attention both for its subject and its reported commercial performance.

With SonyLIV confirming November 27 as the streaming date, the film is now preparing for its digital audience. The release comes at a time when questions over publicity control, commercial arrangements and joint ownership have become part of the public discussion surrounding the project.

The four producers’ rights clarification and the earlier statement on authorised representation outline the positions communicated by the film’s team. Any further developments concerning the reported dispute will be separate from the streaming platform’s confirmed release announcement.

For viewers, the immediate development is the film’s arrival on SonyLIV later this month, offering another opportunity to watch the story of Neem Karoli Baba
