The much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 has hit an unexpected roadblock after veteran actor Paresh Rawal exited the project mid-shoot, reportedly without informing the core team. The news came just as fans began celebrating the trio’s reunion after shooting for the promo and IPL teaser.
Sources reveal that Akshay Kumar, who is also producing the film, sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal, citing breach of agreement. The notice stated that Paresh had received a part payment of ₹11 lakh during the initial shoot. Threatening both civil and criminal action, Akshay’s team demanded accountability.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Paresh’s total remuneration was agreed upon as ₹15 crore. While ₹11 lakh was paid upfront, the balance ₹14.89 crore was contractually set to be paid a month after the film’s release—which may not happen until 2026 or 2027. This delayed payment clause reportedly triggered Paresh’s decision to opt out.
In response, Paresh has returned the ₹11 lakh payment with 15% interest to Akshay’s production house. However, he and his team have yet to release an official statement regarding the fallout.
Director Priyadarshan expressed disappointment, stating that Paresh signed the same contract as the rest of the cast and had not voiced any concerns. “He could have just called me before telling the media,” he said in an interview with Mid-Day.
Meanwhile, Akshay’s legal team told PTI they are hopeful of resolving the issue, but warned that “severe legal consequences” await if Paresh’s exit is not amicably settled.
