New Delhi: In a groundbreaking moment for Indian music, Himesh Reshammiya has become the first Indian artist to secure a spot on Bloomberg’s Global Pop Power List, joining global icons like Beyonce, Post Malone, Coldplay, Sabrina Carpenter, and Shakira.

Known for his signature nasal vocals and a flair for chart-topping hits, Himesh has made a mark on the international stage. Bloomberg’s ranking celebrates the most influential pop artists globally, based on seven data-driven criteria—including revenue, ticket and album sales, digital streams, and YouTube views. Himesh’s inclusion reflects not only his enduring popularity but also the rising global recognition of Indian music talents.

Often called the “Hit Machine”, Reshammiya has delivered over 2,000 hit songs and amassed an audience of more than 200 billion YouTube views. His recent global concerts have also received tremendous fanfare, further solidifying his place among the world’s top pop stars. A new round of international performances is expected to be announced soon.

Himesh first soared to fame with his 2006 debut album Aap Kaa Surroor, which became the second highest-selling album worldwide after Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Most recently, he starred in the 2025 film Badass Ravi Kumar.

This recognition by Bloomberg not only honors Himesh’s decades-long career but also catapults Indian pop music onto the global map.
