After nearly four weeks in theaters, Dhanush’s Tamil drama Idli Kadai is ready for its digital premiere. The film, which released on October 1, 2025, will start streaming on Netflix from October 29, available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Dhanush returns as director

Idli Kadai marks Dhanush’s return to direction, following his earlier 2025 project Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The actor-filmmaker has written, directed, and co-produced the film under his banner Wunderbar Films, in association with Dawn Pictures.

Apart from directing, Dhanush also plays the lead role, supported by an ensemble cast featuring Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Shalini Pandey, P. Samuthirakani, and R. Parthiban.

Idli Kadai synopsis

The film follows a young man from a humble village who moves abroad to chase his dreams. A tragic incident forces him to return home, where he is confronted by his family’s struggles and his father’s unfulfilled dreams.
Set against a rural backdrop, the story delves into themes of ambition, identity, and rediscovering one’s roots.
