A manipulated video purportedly showing Aishwarya Rai taking a swim in a swimming pool while wearing swimwear has been making the rounds on social media, making her the latest high-profile victim of online deepfakes. The words “Bathing Aishwarya” are positioned in the center of the video, which features the actress’s face transformed onto the body of another woman. Before turning her head and revealing a glitch on her face, she was seen grinning at the camera. We cannot attest to the legitimacy of this video. Nonetheless, a number of internet users have responded to the video with comments; some people think Aishwarya Rai is in it, while others have pointed out that it was created by AI. A user wrote, ‘Beauty queen’, whereas another one wrote ‘AI magic ..vry dangerous’. While one of the fans commented, ‘Moon in water’, another one wrote ‘Edit Photo Hai Yaarr’. Meanwhile, a deepfake video of Rashmika Mandanna also went viral recently and started a much-needed discussion on Artificial Intelligence and its potential consequences in the future. The morphed viral video showed Rashmika entering an elevator dressed in a black body-hugging yoga suit and smiling for the camera. Notably, the original video features social media influencer Zara Patel whose face was edited into Rashmika’s.
