Mumbai: Actor Anjali Anand recently opened the doors to her cosy one-bedroom apartment in Mumbai, giving fans a glimpse into a home filled with personal keepsakes, cinema-inspired decor and quirky touches. Best known for playing Gayatri, fondly called Golu, in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Anjali has created a space that reflects her personality and love for films.

The actor gave Farah Khan and her cook Dilip a tour of her home during a recent episode of Food With Farah. From a portrait of legendary actor Vinod Khanna and Harry Potter merchandise to flea-market finds, a disco light and an unusually designed bathroom, the apartment is packed with details that make it distinctly hers.

A warm home filled with personal touches

Anjali’s Mumbai apartment may be compact, but its decor gives it a warm and lived-in feel. Multiple lights brighten the interiors, including a disco light that adds a playful touch to the space.

The overall atmosphere has a cosy, almost holiday-home-like quality, reminiscent of the cottage seen in the film The Holiday. Rather than opting for an elaborate celebrity-style interior, Anjali has filled her home with objects that have personal meaning.

The actor has described herself as private and shy, and the apartment appears to reflect that understated personality. Many of the pieces around the house have a story behind them, including artwork gifted by friends.

Michael Jackson and Mona Lisa get an Indian makeover

The living room immediately stands out with framed artworks featuring familiar global icons with an Indian twist.

One artwork depicts Michael Jackson reimagined as an Indian figure, while another portrays the Mona Lisa as an Indian queen. According to the home tour, the pieces were gifts from one of Anjali’s friends.

The living room itself features a two-seater sofa, with a full-length mirror positioned behind it. A chest of drawers sits nearby, with bags and accessories arranged in transparent cases.

A restored old trunk also forms part of the decor. Instead of discarding it, the piece was given a new lease of life through restoration.

A white cabinet beside it holds bags that Anjali has collected from flea markets and during her travels around the world.

Harry Potter merchandise and a Vinod Khanna portrait

Anjali’s love for cinema is another prominent feature of the apartment. Her collection includes Harry Potter merchandise, adding a pop-culture element to the interiors.

A portrait of veteran actor Vinod Khanna is also among the notable pieces displayed in the home. The presence of such memorabilia gives the apartment a distinctly cinematic character without making the interiors feel overly formal.

The room is divided by two arches, with one leading towards the bedroom and the other opening into the kitchen. The open layout helps the relatively small apartment feel more connected.

A bathroom with a lotus-shaped sink

Anjali’s bathroom follows a different aesthetic, with white and pink tones dominating the space.

The actor revealed that she combined two smaller bathrooms to create one larger bathroom. One of its most distinctive features is the sink, which is shaped like a lotus.

Above the sink is a mirror surrounded by seashell detailing, adding another decorative element to the otherwise compact space.

The combination of colours and unusual fixtures gives the bathroom a more personalised appearance rather than the standard design often seen in modern apartments.

Bedroom is the heart of the apartment

The bedroom appears to be the most personal part of Anjali’s home.

Her bed is positioned along the windows, allowing natural light into the room. Opposite the bed is a large mirror fitted with vanity lights, creating a dedicated dressing and makeup area.

The dressing section is neatly organised with makeup products and accessories, while a chest of drawers provides additional storage.

However, Anjali has found a practical alternative to traditional wardrobes for her clothes. Clothing organisers are stacked beside the bed, while two pipes serve as hanging rails for her outfits.

The actor admitted that she does not enjoy folding clothes, making the open hanging system a practical solution for her.

An organised kitchen catches Farah Khan’s attention

The kitchen was another area that caught Farah Khan’s attention during the home tour.

Despite its compact size, the space appeared carefully organised. Store-bought condiments and bottles were arranged neatly on the counter, while spices were labelled and kept in an orderly manner.

Fresh and dried flowers added a decorative touch to the kitchen, bringing some colour and warmth into the functional space.

During the visit, Anjali also prepared a batch of noodles for Farah and Dilip. Farah praised the dish as being “restaurant-style”, adding a food-focused moment to the home tour.

Farah Khan jokes about Anjali’s Birkin bag

One of the lighter moments from the episode came when Farah encouraged Anjali to unbox a Birkin bag that had been gifted to her by a close friend.

Farah jokingly suggested that Anjali could sell the expensive bag and use the money to buy a bigger house.

The exchange highlighted the contrast between the actor’s relatively modest one-bedroom apartment and the luxury accessory.

Rather than being designed around expensive furniture or extravagant interiors, Anjali’s home is centred on objects collected through friendships, travel and personal interests.

A celebrity home that feels personal

Anjali Anand’s Mumbai apartment offers a glimpse into a different kind of celebrity home. Instead of focusing on grand interiors, the one-bedroom space combines practical storage solutions with artwork, movie memorabilia, travel finds and playful decor.

From the Harry Potter merchandise and Vinod Khanna portrait to the disco light, restored trunk, seashell mirror and lotus-shaped sink, each corner has a distinctive character.

The home tour also gives an insight into Anjali’s life away from the screen. While she has appeared in projects including Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Dhamaal 4, Bun Tikki and Bell Bottom, her apartment reflects a quieter and more personal side of the actor.
