John Abraham is basking in the success of his latest release, The Diplomat, which, despite minimal promotions, has managed to hold its ground since its March 14, 2025 release. However, in a recent interview, the actor voiced deep concerns about Bollywood’s current trajectory.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, John admitted he is worried about the industry, saying, “It is very, very scary. As someone who cares about Hindi cinema, I am deeply concerned. I don’t claim to be a game-changer, but some of us genuinely want to make a difference.”
Acknowledging his commercial hero status, John emphasized that actors and filmmakers should be given the freedom and financial support to explore meaningful cinema. He stated, “We are making good films, but the industry needs that extra push to truly grow. While critics continue to write Bollywood’s obituary, we are still producing quality content.”
Meanwhile, The Diplomat continues its steady run, surpassing ₹30 crores at the box office. Featuring Sharib Hashmi, Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, and Revathy, the Shivam Nair-directed film delves into the complexities of Indo-Pak diplomacy, blending high-stakes politics with personal turmoil.
