Chennai: Taking on Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK again but indirectly, actor Kamal Haasan on Friday wondered why the principle of “no work, no pay” should not apply to legislators who move into resorts.

Kamal Hassan tweeted: “No work no pay only for government employees? How about horse trading politicians languishing in resorts?”

The Tamil Nadu government has said the pay of its striking teachers and other employees would be cut for the days they don’t work. The employees are on strike in support of various demands.

“The honourable court warns teachers on strike. I beseech the court to issue similar warnings to those MLAs who desist from attending work,” Kamal Haasan said.

Interestingly, the Tamil Nadu government recently more than doubled the salaries of MLAs to Rs 105,000 per month.

Kamal Haasan has said he would float his own political party.

According to reports, the actor plans to contest in the local body elections in Tamil Nadu.
