Chennai: Super star Kamal Hasan is likely to foray into the political arena by floating his own party by the end of this month.
Interestingly M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa who have served as chief minister of Tamil Nadu too had ruled the silver screen before taking the political plunge.
Haasan, who is currently filming reality television show The Bigg Boss, off late has been very vocal about the political turmoil being witnessed in the state. Speculations were rife that he may join CPI(M) after his meeting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on September 1.
The actor, while admitting that he wants to float his own party, mentioned that his goals in politics differ from the ideologies of any political party and he wants to be accountable to the voters.
“If I fail to deliver, then the voters can sack me immediately and need not wait for five years to vote me out,” said the actor who termed it as the only way change in politics of the country can come about. On choosing Tamil Nadu to make his political debut, Hassan mentioned that he must clean his state before starting on the neighbours.
The local body elections in Tamil Nadu will be held in November 2017.
