Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Kangana Ranaut will be provided Y-Plus category security.
The security will be provided to her after the actor made a comment comparing Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
She had faced sharp criticism from Shiv Sena after she attacked the Mumbai police and the government on the handling of Sushant Singh Rajput case.
Speaking about the SSR case, recently the 33-year-old actor had said that she feared living in Mumbai and same comment led to severe backlash from the Shiv Sena leaders.
Sena MLA Pratap Saranik said the actor should be arrested for sedition and that “if she comes here then our brave women will not leave without slapping her”.
Sena Sernior leader Sajay Raut even used a slur against the actor on camera and responding to Raut, Kangana had challenged him to stop her if he can as she is arriving at Mumbai on September 9.
Kangana Ranaut will be protected by a Personal Security Officer and 11 armed policemen including commandos, sources in the Home Ministry said.
The actor tweeted thanking Home Minister Amit Shah.
“This proves that a patriot’s voice cannot be crushed by. I am grateful to Amit Shah, if he wanted, he could have advised me to go to Mumbai after a few days but he respected a daughter of India, protected her pride and self-respect. Jai Hind,” she tweeted in Hindi.
