Telugu filmmaker Teja, known for giving breaks to fresh faces in the industry, is now preparing to launch Bharati Ghattamaneni, niece of superstar Mahesh Babu, in his upcoming project.
Bharati, daughter of late actor-producer Ramesh Babu, has reportedly completed look tests and acting workshops for the role. According to Deccan Chronicle, she will portray a “well-etched lover-girl role”, a character that carries the blessings of both Mahesh Babu and Ramesh Babu’s families.
Teja, who was particular about casting someone with a traditional yet graceful charm, found Bharati a perfect fit. Her popularity on social media added weight to the decision—earlier this year, her dance cover of Mahesh Babu’s viral hit “Kurchi Madathapetti” from Guntur Kaaram earned wide attention, showcasing her natural screen presence.
Interestingly, Bharati isn’t the only one from the Ghattamaneni clan entering films. Her cousin Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni, Mahesh Babu’s nephew, is also gearing up for his big debut under director Ajay Bhupathi. With two young talents from the same family set to enter Tollywood around the same time, fans are buzzing with anticipation.
A source revealed, “Mahesh has always supported his brother Ramesh Babu’s career, even backing him as a producer in films like Arjun. Now, he is extending the same encouragement to the next generation of the family.”
Meanwhile, director Teja is juggling multiple ventures. Alongside Bharati’s launch film, he has also begun shooting a socio-fantasy thriller starring his son Amitov, whose acting debut commenced on August 8.
On the other side, Mahesh Babu himself is deeply engaged with SS Rajamouli’s mega project ‘SSMB29’, co-starring Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
