Sandeep Malani has been known to have introduced lots of young talents to the film industry. Many of them are popular today and have chosen Hindi as well as South films to proceed further in their career. Some of the names include Diganth, Kiran Srinivas, Abrar Zahoor, Arjun Rao, Shona Chabbra, Prithvi Venkatesh. Adding to the list are Vivek Mishra, Anant Joshi and Vivek Punjabi, who have been repeated by Malani in his latest offering, ‘Maa’. Sandeep had introduced Vivek Mishra in ‘Shaayad’, Anant Joshi in ‘Jaanleva 555’ and Vivek Punjabi in the recently released Kannada film, ‘Sulige Sikkidaaga’.
Vivek Mishra: Vivek is a well known Yoga Exponent and a TV actor. Besides modeling for many known brands, he is the face of Yamaha Helmets. He had trained people from Hollywood like Sean Paul and Edward Maya on Yoga. He was also the contestant for the popular reality show Bigg Boss 7, as a wild card entry. He has appeared in the series, Savdhaan India. He will soon be seen in a mythological fiction. He is a popular face on the Page 3 life and award functions. And recently he was awarded as the Dada Saheb Phalke Academy Award for the Best TV entertainer.
Anant Joshi: After playing the leads in couple of mainstream theatre in Delhi, he played the central character for ‘Zindagi Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Ghost’ a comedy serial for Life Ok channel. He has been balancing his stage and honouring the Spanish dance form Flamenco. And presently, he is the only Male flamenco dancer in India. He has been touring round the globe in performing this Spanish Dance Art. Soon he is planning to have workshops all over.
Vivek Punjabi: Started from playing on stage and theatre in Kannada and English, he had played a parallel lead in the Kannada film ‘Lifu Ishtene’. His forthcoming film as a lead in Hindi is, ‘The Haunting in MP’. He has also done a web series named Bilvamangal Thakur for Iskon Temple. He has featured in a couple of Ad films like AirCel ad, Mobmerry App, besides a couple of short films to his credit.
The Trio in ‘Maa’: All the three actors have ‘special appearance’ in ‘Maa’. The three plays very special role in taking the film forward as their character leads the story ahead. Mishra, plays himself Vivek; as the Yoga Guru and features in a Page 3 party sequence giving Yoga Tips and connecting the artists in his sequence. Joshi plays Hrithik, a Flamenco dancer and a good friend of the lead actors (Ranjeet and Mahendra). Joshi also gets to showcase his dance form in the film. And Punjabi plays Akshay, a very stylish and an attitude Boss of a multinational firm.
All the three look promising in the film/web series ‘Maa’ being made for RKJ Productions in association with Malani Talkies and The Studio Agency. ‘Maa’ is edited by Santosh Chawla with music by Karthik Venkatesh. The film stars Meena Malani, Ranjeet Jha, Bharath Laxmikanth, Sanjukta Ghosh, Sharanya Kaur, Amruta Pore, Mahendra Pandey, Akash Hora, Deepali Khambadkone and others. It has script, screenplay and is directed by Sandeep Malani.
