Malayalam Filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan Booked for Harassing Actress
Noted Malayalam filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has been booked by the Elamakkara Police on charges of harassing a prominent actress on social media, police confirmed on Tuesday. Sasidharan, known for directing Kayam, faces multiple charges including stalking, criminal intimidation, and defamation under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The actress filed a formal complaint on Monday, prompting the police to register the case. In a recent Facebook post, Sasidharan claimed that both the actress and her daughter’s lives were under threat. In an unusual turn of events, Sasidharan shared the copy of the FIR against him on his Facebook page, claiming that the complaint was filed by someone impersonating the actress.
This is not the first time Sasidharan has faced legal issues with the actress. In May 2022, he was arrested and later released on bail after being accused of blackmailing and defaming the actress through social media. The ongoing case adds to the controversy surrounding the filmmaker’s interactions with the actress.
