Megastar Mammootty, who brought to life the enigmatic character Kodumon Potty in the critically acclaimed film Bramayugam, has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor 2025.

The awards were announced by Minister for Culture and Films Saji Cherian during a ceremony held at Ramanilayam, Thrissur, in the presence of the seven-member jury headed by actor-director Prakash Raj.

Jury and highlights

The two sub-committees of the preliminary jury were chaired by directors Ranjan Pramod and Jibu Jacob, while Bhagyalakshmi, Gayatri Asokan, Nithin Lukose, and Santhosh Echikkanam were among the members.

Mammootty congratulates fellow winners

Reacting to his win, Mammootty congratulated all fellow artistes, saying, “Awards are only part of the journey — not a competition.”

The 72-year-old actor’s haunting performance in Bramayugam was widely praised for its intensity and depth, adding yet another milestone to his illustrious career.
