The 71st rendition of Miss World 2024 concluded with Krystyna Pyszkova from Czech Republic emerging as the victor on Saturday. Preceding the announcement of the winner, 13 champions of the fast-track talent round at the global pageant strutted the runway alongside the ensemble cast of “Heeramandi.” Notably, “Heeramandi” is an upcoming series by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, featuring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal. Sonakshi Sinha shared a group photograph of the entire “Heeramandi” cast alongside the 13 contestants, all clad in traditional yellow attire. This attire echoes the ensembles seen in the first song titled “Sakal Ban” from the series. Sonakshi captioned the images with, “Bringing in Basant across the globe, with the diamonds of Heeramandi and Miss World 2024. Sakal Ban- SONG OUT NOW from Heeramandi. Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is coming soon, only on Netflix!”
The same image was also shared by the official Instagram page of Bhansali Productions. The production house captioned it, “Unparalleled grace in a single frame. The leading ladies of #SanjayLeelaBhansali’s HEERAMANDI join the Miss World contestants and take to the global stage to launch #BhansaliMusic’s first song, #SakalBan.”

A circulating video showcases the stunning actors strutting the runway in their elaborate yellow ensembles, exuding elegance. The first song of the series, “Sakal Ban,” was unveiled on Saturday, featuring Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal adorned in vibrant traditional outfits. Sung by Raja Hasan with lyrics by Amir Khusro, the song celebrates the arrival of spring with beauty, strength, and grace.
Regarding the project, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, making his OTT debut, expressed, “I’ve made big films, I enjoy making those big-scale films, and it comes naturally to me. But while shifting to digital, I’ve taken it up a notch. Heeramandi is my biggest project; I wanted to make it really special, and I have surprised myself with this one. This is not just a series; it’s a world, and I am eager for audiences worldwide to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Heeramandi on Netflix.”
In another statement, Bhansali mentioned, “This is an epic, first-of-its-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world.”
