Veteran actor Nana Patekar walked out of the trailer launch of O Romeo in Mumbai after growing visibly frustrated over delays, turning what was meant to be a celebratory event into a widely discussed viral moment.

Delay sparks actor’s exit

The trailer and poster launch of the Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri starrer was scheduled to take place on January 21 at a mall in Andheri. While the poster launch was planned for 11 am and the trailer unveiling for noon inside a theatre, the programme reportedly ran behind schedule.

Known for his punctuality, Nana Patekar arrived at sharp 12 pm and waited inside the theatre for the trailer launch to begin. However, the poster event was delayed and reportedly continued till around 1 pm, leaving the actor waiting for nearly an hour.

Viral video captures moment

Videos that have since gone viral show Patekar walking out of the auditorium and heading towards the lift as organisers attempted to persuade him to stay. In one clip, the actor is seen pointing at his watch, expressing his displeasure, while in another he firmly gestures “no” near the elevator before leaving the venue.

Eyewitnesses said the actor chose to leave quietly but decisively, unwilling to wait any longer for the programme to begin.

Chaos behind the scenes

Reports suggest that other cast members, including Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri, arrived late as the poster launch of the upcoming film—directed by Vishal Bhardwaj—was delayed. The extended programme reportedly led to scheduling confusion, ultimately resulting in Patekar’s exit.

Talking point of the evening

While the O Romeo trailer launch eventually went ahead, Nana Patekar’s walkout became the main talking point of the event. The incident has reignited conversations around professionalism, punctuality and time management at film promotions.
