Chennai: Telugu star Nani has revealed that his young son is eager to watch his upcoming action entertainer The Paradise, but will have to wait until the actor feels he is ready for the film.
Nani made the remarks during a media interaction in Chennai ahead of the release of director Srikanth Odela’s highly anticipated film. The actor was asked about reports suggesting that The Paradise could receive an ‘A’ certificate and whether such a certification would affect family audiences.
Nani expects an ‘A’ certificate
Responding to the question, Nani said the film had not yet received its censor certificate and therefore its final certification was still unknown. However, he said he had a feeling that the film could receive an ‘A’ certificate.
An ‘A’ certificate would mean that the film would not be available for children in theatres, potentially limiting its family audience.
Nani acknowledged that the certification could result in the film missing out on children and some family audiences. However, he stressed that every film or genre cannot be designed to appeal to everyone.
The actor also pointed out that family-oriented films are coming up and said he would soon be seen in such projects as well.
‘I will have to explore all kinds of genres’
Nani said that, as an actor, he wanted to explore different genres and felt that the intensity and performance required for The Paradise could only be achieved through a certain kind of filmmaking.
He said the team had deliberately pursued that approach with the film.
According to Nani, the movie is a mainstream production but features a much stronger level of intensity than audiences may have encountered in similar mainstream films.
Nani’s son eager to watch the film
Speaking about his own family, Nani revealed that his son has already asked whether he could watch The Paradise.
The actor said he had told his son that he could not watch the film when it releases, but could see it later when Nani feels he is ready for it.
Nani explained that while the extent of violence in the film is something audiences may have seen in other mainstream movies, the intensity in The Paradise is considerably stronger.
He added that the film is intended to offer an intense cinematic experience for adult audiences, while children may have to wait before watching it.
Srikanth Odela directs ‘The Paradise’
The Paradise is directed by Srikanth Odela, who previously worked with Nani on Dasara. The upcoming film is positioned as an explosive action entertainer and has generated considerable anticipation among Nani’s fans.
