The launch of ‘New Era’, a groundbreaking musical project by Vision Konkani in collaboration with Daijiworld, took place at the LCRI block of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, on Sunday, July 7. The event was a spectacle, featuring 12 new Konkani songs, crafted by 12 lyricists and composed by 11 music composers, and performed by 15 talented singers. Urban Grove from Mangaluru added elegance with their captivating stage performances, while renowned Konkani actors Mellu Valencia and Cletus Lobo Urwa entertained the audience with their comedic prowess.

In addition to the musical extravaganza, the event marked the release of 10 Konkani books authored by various writers from Karnataka and Goa, an initiative in collaboration with the World Konkani Center. The launch also heralded the debut of Daijiworld Films, a new venture set to produce movies under the leadership of Michael D’Souza, with the first film directed by Stany Bela and music by Sanjay Rodrigues.

Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, commended Michael D’Souza and Vision Konkani for pioneering a new era in Konkani literature, music, and entertainment. He pledged full support to their visionary efforts.

Michael D’Souza expressed his delight with the successful completion of the ‘New Era’ project and emphasized the need for continued innovation in Konkani music and literature. Nandagola Shenoy, president of the World Konkani Center, praised Vision Konkani for its dedication to promoting Konkani language and culture.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Fr Richard Coelho, Fr Rocky D’Cunha OFM, Titus Noronha, and H M Pernal, among others.
