Just days after veteran actor Paresh Rawal announced his sudden exit from the much-awaited film Hera Pheri 3, co-star Suniel Shetty has broken his silence, expressing deep disappointment and shock over the news.
Contrary to Paresh Rawal’s claim that his co-stars were informed, Shetty revealed that he learned about Rawal’s departure from his children while promoting his upcoming film Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath.
In a candid chat with India Today, Shetty said, “Athiya and Ahan messaged me asking, ‘Papa, what is this?’ I was in the middle of interviews and was stunned. It hit me hard.”
Talking to ANI, Shetty added, “This film can’t happen without Paresh ji. Even if there’s a 1% chance of it happening without me or Akshay, there’s absolutely zero chance without Babu Bhaiya. The chemistry of Raju and Shyam needs Paresh to strike — that’s what makes it magic.”
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Akshay Kumar, who now owns the film rights from Feroz Nadiadwala, has taken legal action against Rawal. Filmmaker Priyadarshan, who is collaborating with all three actors on another project (Bhoot Bangla), stated, “Akshay had asked me to confirm their availability before beginning. I had spoken to both, and they were on board. This exit was unexpected.”
Addressing speculation, Paresh Rawal clarified via X on May 18 that his decision was not due to creative disagreements, and reaffirmed his respect and trust in director Priyadarshan.
