In the early hours of May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, a series of 24 precision missile strikes across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, targeting nine terrorist camps, including those of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. The strikes were a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
