As tensions between India and Pakistan intensify, Bollywood actors are under scrutiny for staying silent on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Amid this, actor Preity Zinta took a stand during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on X (formerly Twitter), responding with heartfelt clarity.
A fan questioned why many Bollywood stars failed to speak up, contrasting their silence with Zinta’s vocal support. In her reply, Preity emphasized her personal connection as a ‘fauji kid’, saying such matters are deeply emotional for her.
“I cannot speak for everyone as people process things differently. But being from an army background, these things hit close to my heart,” she said.
She recounted seeing “the grit, the sweat, the blood, the tears” of military life firsthand, acknowledging the immense sacrifices made by soldiers’ families.
“Sometimes I feel Fouji families are even stronger than the Faujis. Have you seen those mothers who give their sons to the nation? Those wives who’ll never see their husbands again? Or those kids who’ll grow up without a parent? This is their truth — always.”
Preity’s comments have been widely praised online for their honesty and emotional depth. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan faced criticism for allegedly using his Operation Sindoor post to promote his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par.
