Chandigarh: Police have launched an investigation after reports emerged claiming unidentified persons opened fire outside the residence of Diljit Dosanjh’s manager Gurpartap Kang in Haryana. However, family members have reportedly denied that any firing incident took place and termed the claims rumours.
The alleged incident created concern after social media posts claimed that members linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were responsible for the attack. The matter surfaced while Diljit Dosanjh is currently in the United States for his ongoing Aura Tour.
According to reports, the alleged firing incident was said to have occurred near Gurpartap Kang’s residence in Gonder village.
Police begin investigation despite denial
Following reports of the alleged attack, police teams from the Nissing Police Station, Special Task Force (STF) and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) reportedly initiated an inquiry into the matter.
As per officials, investigators visited the location and examined the surroundings after receiving information regarding the alleged firing.
However, Nissing SHO Krishan Kumar reportedly stated that no evidence of gunfire or firing marks was found during the preliminary inspection.
Police also noted that family members present at the residence neither submitted a formal complaint nor gave any official statement regarding the alleged incident.
Former village sarpanch Joga Singh also reportedly denied that any firing had occurred in the village.
According to local accounts, family members were allegedly unaware of the claims until police personnel arrived for investigation.
Social media posts linked incident to gang warning
The controversy intensified after a message circulated on social media claiming that individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had carried out the alleged attack.
The post reportedly mentioned names including Tyson Bishnoi, Aarzoo Bishnoi and Hari Boxer while claiming responsibility.
The message allegedly described the incident as a “third warning” directed towards Diljit Dosanjh and his management team.
It also reportedly referred to recent controversies linked to the singer’s ongoing Aura Tour and accused him of “misbehaving” with the group.
However, police officials have not officially confirmed the authenticity of the viral social media claims.
Diljit recently addressed concert disruptions
The latest controversy comes shortly after Diljit Dosanjh issued a public statement urging people not to target his fans during live concerts.
The singer had earlier addressed disruptions that occurred during his Aura Tour concert in Calgary after audience members were seen waving flags associated with pro-Khalistan sentiment.
Videos from the concert had gone viral on social media, showing Diljit pausing his performance and asking security personnel to remove individuals allegedly attempting to disrupt the event.
In a statement shared on Instagram Stories, Diljit said peaceful protest outside venues may be acceptable as part of freedom of expression, but targeting audiences or disturbing live performances would not be tolerated.
He had also requested event organisers and security teams to take appropriate action against disruptions inside venues.
Punjab CM comments on controversy
Reacting to the reports, Bhagwant Mann commented on the controversy during an interaction with ANI.
The Punjab Chief Minister suggested that Diljit Dosanjh was facing pressure to enter politics but had chosen to remain focused on his artistic career.
“Then there are other ways of creating pressure by shooting at someone’s manager, etc. Such kind of politics should not be done,” Mann reportedly said.
As of now, no official confirmation of firing has been established by investigators, and police continue to examine the claims and viral social media messages linked to the alleged incident.
Further investigation is underway.
