Mumbai: Two individuals, caught on CCTV discharging firearms near Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Mumbai home, are believed to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Gurugram, Haryana, according to police reports. The men were identified, with one named Vishal, who is allegedly connected to Rohit Godara, a known member of the Bishnoi gang involved in various criminal activities.

Vishal is also a suspect in the March homicide of Sachin Munjal, a businessman from Gurugram. Godara, who is reportedly abroad, appeared to admit to the murder in a social media declaration.

The CCTV footage showed the men wearing caps and backpacks, engaging in gunfire directed at the actor’s home. Their attire included a white t-shirt with a black jacket and denim for one, and a red t-shirt with denim for the other. Before this incident, the suspects reportedly scouted Galaxy Apartments, where Khan resides. They left their motorcycle, which might have been stolen, near Mount Mary Church in Bandra, and escaped capture by taking a rickshaw to the Bandra railway station. Authorities reported that the suspects have since fled the city.

The motorcycle was found a short distance from Khan’s residence.

Following the shooting, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claimed the act online as a “preview” and issued a warning to the actor.

In response, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde contacted Khan, offering him strong support and affirming a commitment to law enforcement.

Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) disclosed that Khan was a prime target for the Bishnoi gang, related to the actor’s controversial 1998 hunting of a black buck, an act that outraged the Bishnoi community. It was noted that Sampat Nehra had previously surveilled Khan’s residence, setting the groundwork for a possible assassination attempt before being arrested by Haryana’s Special Task Force.

Following another threat in April of the previous year, Mumbai Police increased Khan’s security to a Y+ level. An Indian student in the UK was also pursued by police after allegedly sending a threatening email to Khan.
