Speaking at an award ceremony later, Sangeeta said she was still recovering from the stress and trauma caused by the incident. She revealed that she had personally approached senior police officials, including Pune Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, requesting faster progress in the investigation. She also spoke candidly about feeling unsafe despite living in the same home for over two decades.

A lasting Bollywood legacy

Sangeeta made her Bollywood debut in 1988 with Qatil, starring opposite Aditya Pancholi. She went on to feature in several notable films including Tridev, Hathyar, Jurm, Yodha and Yugandhar. Her last on-screen appearance was in the 1996 action thriller Nirbhay, directed by Vinod Dewan.
