Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar returned to Bengaluru on January 26, 2025, following successful bladder cancer surgery at the Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) in the United States. The 62-year-old actor underwent the procedure on December 24, 2024, and was met with an outpouring of love and support from fans and colleagues upon his arrival.

Shiva Rajkumar expressed heartfelt gratitude during a press conference at his residence, where he shared his emotional journey. “I was a bit scared, but the support from my fans and well-wishers gave me the strength to go through with it,” he said, adding that he is excited to return to his work and entertain his fans again. He also acknowledged the care and support of his wife Geetha and daughter Niveditha, who played a pivotal role during his recovery. Describing the recovery process, he shared, “The surgery lasted six hours, and I started walking the next day. I don’t know where that energy came from.”

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also visited Shiva Rajkumar at his home on January 27 to inquire about his health and recovery. Weeks earlier, Shiva Rajkumar had shared a video announcing that he is cancer-free after undergoing a bladder removal procedure, which was replaced with an artificial one.

The actor, who was last seen in the Kannada film Bhairathi Ranagal, is now looking forward to resuming work on several upcoming films, including Uttarakaanda, 45, Bhairavana Kone Paata, and a special appearance in Ram Charan’s RC 16.
