Hyderabad witnessed a proud moment for South Indian cinema as two of its legendary figures—Nandamuri Balakrishna and Ajith Kumar—were conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushanaward, India’s third-highest civilian honour. The grand event, hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday, saw President Droupadi Murmu bestowing the awards amidst family members, dignitaries, and well-wishers.

Balakrishna, known for his iconic roles in mythological and period dramas in Telugu cinema, has built a formidable legacy over the decades. Ajith Kumar, meanwhile, has captivated viewers with his versatility, charisma, and impressive accomplishments in both cinema and motorsports.

Social media platforms buzzed with excitement and admiration from fans, but one tribute stood out. Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan extended warm wishes to the awardees through two emotional notes—one in Telugu for Balakrishna, and the other in Tamil for Ajith.

In his message to Balakrishna, Pawan celebrated his impactful film journey and selfless public service, referring to him as a powerhouse in cinema and community welfare.

For Ajith, Pawan’s Tamil note lauded his diverse talent, immense fanbase, and multi-faceted path that blends stardom with sporting excellence.

Pawan’s bilingual congratulatory messages resonated deeply with fans across states, adding a heartfelt and personal layer to the occasion.

These honours not only mark a milestone for the stars but also for the South Indian film industry as a whole.
