After months of anticipation, it’s now confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan will not be appearing in Jailer 2 — the sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2023 mega-hit. The buzz was finally put to rest by Box Office South India on X, ending the swirling speculation about a potential cameo by the Bollywood icon.
But fans, don’t lose hope just yet — a new A-list Bollywood actor is set to join the cast, according to News18. Though the name remains under wraps, the producers are reportedly planning a blockbuster reveal soon, aiming to raise the star quotient even further.
Directed once again by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 picks up from the thrilling end of the first film, with Rajinikanth reprising his fan-favourite role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The original combined action, emotional drama, and surprise cameos from legends like Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff — all expected to return.
Whispers in the industry also suggest Telugu superstars may enter the arena. Nandamuri Balakrishna is rumored to have a cameo, while Nagarjuna Akkineni has reportedly been approached for a lead villain role. These discussions, however, await official confirmation.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is wrapping up Coolie, his action flick with Lokesh Kanagaraj, set for release on August 14, 2025. That film boasts its own powerhouse cast — Nagarjuna, Upendra Rao, Aamir Khan (cameo), Shruti Haasan, and Pooja Hegde in a fiery dance number.
Even without SRK, Jailer 2 is shaping up to be an electrifying cinematic event with star power, fresh twists, and high-octane action.
